Program overview

This program is featuring one of the most advanced wastewater treatment technologies from Israel being installed at Cavitt’s Creek Park on Lake Witten in Tazewell County, Virginia. Cavitt’s Creek Park is a beautiful County Park located in Tazewell, Virginia in the heart of Virginia’s Southwest mountains’ coal country. EPC America LLC is providing a turnkey design-build solution as an economically affordable and environmentally sustainable wastewater treatment system. The wastewater system is based upon an Israeli designed advanced BIODISK fixed film reactor.

This advanced, lower-cost infrastructure system includes wastewater collection, the treatment system itself, and effluent management. One of the main goals is to enable Cavitt’s Creek Park expand it’s capacity for eco-tourism and ultimately become a Virginia State Park. Collaborating on this project are the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, Virginia State Parks, the Virginia Department of Health, plus many local government departments within Tazewell County.

Part of the overall program for expansion includes the design and construction of new finished cabins. These will provide high quality overnight accommodations in addition to current rustic camping and recreation vehicles (RV) sites. The cabins BIODISK wastewater design is akin to a decentralized wastewater system for a housing subdivision or a “cluster” wastewater processing system.

Finally the overall program includes a significant economic development component. Cavitt’s Creek will be a catalyst for expanding eco-tourism in the five state region of Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. In addition, EPC America LLC, will locate design, fabrication, and quality control operations for this and other Israeli and American related products’ manufacturers in the “Bluestone Regional Business and Technology Center”, Tazewell, Virginia. Cavitt’s Creek is a “National Model Project” demonstration site providing communities and entities worldwide the opportunity to see this most advanced wastewater treatment technology in operation.

The demonstrated integrated technologies, products, and processes discussed during The EmeraldPlanet TV broadcast are innovative, sustainable, resilient, and profound. This project’s demonstrations are most important for the three and one-half billion people and their tens of thousands of communities around the world with no, inadequate, or under performing wastewater treatment facilities.

As you may know EmeraldPlanet is a worldwide non-profit organization dedicated to identifying at least 1,000 ‘best practices’ for sustainable environmental and economic development. Our efforts are to link those having such “best practices” with those needing the technologies, processes, services, and products to be outstanding ecological stewards of their resources. Please support The Emerald Planet Television and The Emerald Trek through your generous donations of US$25, US$50, or US$100. Click the donations button to make your contributions now
