Program overview

Led by Jeremy Weissman, CEO, E.P.C. Ltd. has been a leading provider of innovative, patented onsite wastewater treatment plants (OWWTP) in the cleantech market for more than 16 years. EPC systems serve commercial, public, and residential needs.

E.P.C. has proven its ability to design and manufacture superior products for the industry throughout its sixteen year history. Its products have exceeded the requirements by very significant and desirable margins. This has led to an ongoing improvement of standards and regulations, which have eliminated lesser products from the market. The company recognized the need to increase the availability of its products to the U.S. and international markets.

The Bio-Robi is mainly used for individual residences to replace the conventional septic systems with a much better and more environmentally friendly waste water treatment system. It is very cost competitive with conventional septic systems, which face regulatory restrictions.

The Bio-Disk unit is designed for multiple residential clusters of individual homes in a subdivision, apartment complexes, condominiums, and commercial applications such as hotels, shopping malls, convenience and entertainment/recreation centers. These units are much more cost effective than alternatives such as treatment plants, which typically cost in the half million dollar range for the plant itself, plus the piping and pumping stations to enable it to service a large enough area is cost- efficient.

The outstanding performance of E.P.C. Ltd. innovative and advanced technologies are proof of its commitment to excellence in both quality and service. Its highly professional and experienced team provides ongoing technical support, ensuring the systems run smoothly and efficiently.

Customers come from a wide variety of sectors including government agencies, municipalities, industry, remote communities, shopping malls, private residences, nature reserves, recreation areas, and tourist centers.

E.P.C. holds the international ISO 9001:2008 standard within the scope of activities of water purification systems, marketing, sales, installations and service, technical support and project management.

David Pearce is the Independent Business Development Consult for Pulcra Chemicals with its special Skintex® MR III Malaria Vector Abatement Project.  The most deadly animal in the world is the mosquito! Though (mostly) quiet and small in size, it is responsible for over one [1] million deaths per year.  Malaria alone is accountable for over 600,000 deaths. Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected mosquitoes. There is one child dying every 30 – 45 seconds in the world due to such bites.

Pulcra Chemicals is a textile chemical company located in South Carolina. Its products are used by textile mills to help produce fibers and fabrics. It has also developed a product that we think is a game changer in the fight against insect borne diseases. It is the Skintex® MRIII blanket! Skintex® MRIII is the only United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) registered microencapsulated insect repellent system for textiles. The Skintex® MR III blanket is a unique vector tool that is not currently being used to fight insect borne diseases.

Pulcra Chemicals is working diligently to introduce the Skintex® MRIII blanket across nations of the world most devastated by malaria. Creating access to the Skintex® MRIII Covers is important because there has been a change in the areas where insect borne diseases are most prevalent.  With the wars in Africa and the natural disasters that have affected tens of millions of humans in under developed countries.   Such millions are often in transient and have no real shelter.

Currently, the main tools used to control the spread of these diseases are the mosquito net and inside residual spraying.  These are not the most useful tools when you have such a huge transient population across the globe in over 50 countries. If a family has no home there is no where to hang a bed net or walls to spray. The Skintex® MRIII blanket  can help protect these people when they suffer from maximum exposure to the weather and environmental conditions.

The Skintex® MRIII blanket works to kill misquotes and any blood-sucking insects when their feet touch the fabric and the microcapsules burst which releases permethrin onto the textile. This creates a HOTFOOT scenario for a mosquito. When a mosquito lands on the textile and attempts to feed, it will come into contact with permethrin and permethrin filled microcapsules. Once the microcapsules burst, the mosquito is dosed with the released permethrin. The result is a DEAD or KNOCKED DOWN mosquito. In independent World Health Organization (WHO) studies, the cover provides 100% KNOCKDEAD/KNOCKDOWN results. In independent Chamber or Cage testing, the result is the typical amount of landings, but ZERO [0] bites.

Whether it has been independent lab testing, independent field trials, or customer feedback, the Skintex® MRIII blanket has proven to be very effective at killing disease carrying insects. It has been toxicologically tested and tested for skin contact. It has been deemed safe for extended and extensive human use.

Warren Kelm is Partner and Engineering Vice President at  Classic Global Energy, LLC.  The goal of the company is to provide a readily available domestic energy source to approximately 1.6 billion people around the world living without a reliable cooking stove, clean drinking water, or electricity for charging batteries and small lighting needs.

After thorough research, alternative designs, and numerous test scenarios the company has created one of the world’s most efficient stove and power source – the “Safe Life High Efficiency (HE) Stove”.  It is being offered as a source of affordable, sustainable heat and power using Clean Burning Fuel (CBF) Briquettes.

Around the world there are 1.6 billion people that have no access to any form of electricity and cook with primary resources such as wood, charcoal, and other forms of open flame heat.  These methods use large quantities of fuel which is harmful to the environment, creates millions of burn victims yearly, and release heavy particulate matter within homes and other confined spaces.  The Safe Life Stove is available on a community-by-community basis in developing countries that currently have no low-cost sustainable heating source.  The impact of the stove will not only answer the current requirements for cooking food safely, it will reduce environmental impact issues, improve the supply of clean water through boiling, while removing one of the principle sources of negative indoor air quality.

Current methods of cooking in many developing countries include antiquated stoves that operate at levels of ten percent [10%] to thirty-five percent [35%] efficiency.  The remainder of the energy (65 to 90%) is simply wasted and results from the incomplete combustion of fuels and heat dissipation from the walls of the stove.  The incomplete combustion produces smoke including heavy particulate emissions and harmful fumes, including carbon monoxide.  Such noxious fumes fill the homes causing great harm to the inhabitants and the environment (air pollution).

We have created the Safe Life Stove to replace these inefficient and hazardous stoves!  The Safe Life Stove achieves nearly 100% complete combustion of the fuel placed into its heat chamber.  The stove features 304 Stainless Steel for the exterior material and uses high temperature 316 Stainless Steel in the combustion areas.

This stove design limits the dissipation of heat through its walls through its design using durable, long life stainless steel.  The result is a stove that can be touched on its outside walls and not be harmful to the user.  The average CO2 emissions level for the Safe Life Stove is 5.6 grams and the average PM emissions are at 113 milligrams.  The Safe Life Stove requires no piping or chimney and produces heat with no visible smoke.  The preferred fuel source is coal briquettes made from in-country sourced low-grade coal made to Classic Global Energy exacting specifications.

The Safe Life Use of stainless steel provides a durable, non-rusting stove that does not readily transfer heat to the outer surfaces and yet allows high temperatures to be achieved inside the stove which provides a more complete, clean combustion of the fuel.  The strength and heat characteristics of the stainless steel also allows the stove to be light weight, long lasting and easily portable.  The Safe Life Stove also boasts the ability to generate enough electrical power to furnish a modest amount of lighting for a home or charge a cellular device.

Our proposal seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by compete combustion of the fuel source and to provide a much higher efficiency than current stoves on the market.  Thorough research and design have produced the Safe Life High Efficiency Stove prototype which can deliver a precise amount of heat for the user and provide it for the same amount of time as any stove on the market.  All of this is possible while consuming less than 1/3 of the amount of fuel as any typical stove currently used in developing countries!  Consequently, the Safe Life Stove will reduce the cost of fuel by using less of it, thus introducing a positive environmental change and providing a major economic benefit to any community adopting the stove.

Safe Life Stove offers a fuel cost savings (due to reduced fuel costs and environmental impact) that can amount to 50% or up to 92% when using its Coal Briquettes versus the more conventional fuel products of wood or charcoal burning.  Contemporary research shows that current fuel costs for two family meals per day for a month in developing countries is about US$30.00.  When using the Renewable Energy Clean Burning Coal Briquettes that cost is lowered to just US$15.00 or less.

Classic Global Energy is committed to technologies that help preserve shared world environment while providing a source for clean, affordable cooking, lighting, safe drinking water, and heating.  In addition to improving in-home air quality and numerous humanitarian benefits, the clean burning Safe Life Stove will reduce the world’s dependence on valuable forests that are being decimated as a source of energy.
