The EmeraldPlanet International Foundation (the EmeraldPlanet) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization with its headquarters and television production studios in Washington, D.C. USA. Created in 1973, the EmeraldPlanet’s activities include the identification of 1,000 best practices as these pertain to: environment quality; severe climate change; protection and enhancement of land, air, and water quality; identification of innovative, sustainable, and resilient ‘green’ technologies, services, products, and processes; promotion of renewable energy sources; among other efforts to foster the nexus of economic, environmental, and community development.
The EmeraldPlanet’s leadership and associated experts work with research institutions, businesses, governments, universities, healthcare providers, Embassies, inventors, K-12 educational systems, clean water advocates, waste-water treatment experts, non-governmental and community-based organizations (NGOs), and individual citizens with the common goal of stopping, and even more importantly reversing, the ravages of severe and violent climate change.
The EmeraldPlanet works in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in collaboration with the PanAmerican-PanAfrican Association (Pa/Pa) and with the Council of Non-Governmental Organizations (CoNGO)., 501(c)(3) organizations. EmeraldPlanet and The EmeraldPlanet TV is a “Strategic Partner” with The World Bank Group Connect4Climate program. It engages with the world community through weekly television broadcasts, multiple social media connections, cable television distributors, Internet, blogs, publishing, education, research, training, idea exchanges, competitions, and civic engagement.
