Program Summary:

The world-wide EmeraldPlanet International Foundation® movement is linking millions of professionals and citizens around the globe through a practical community-by-community identification, evaluation, broadcasting, and promotions weekly television program and selected The Emerald Mini-Treks®.

EmeraldPlanet International Foundation® has continually expanded its outreach and service to all sectors of countries and local communities. It is actively identifying the “best of the best” technologies, services, products, and processes. This is the “high touch” portions of the EmeraldPlanet® global movement featuring the “high technologies” through The Emerald Mini-Treks®, while creating The Emerald Mall® to match those inventing, creating, experimenting with, and manufacturing needed technologies. with those individuals and communities needing such technologies, services, products, and processes for sustainable, resilient, and adaptive living in closer harmony with natural surroundings.

WELCOME to join in this world-wide movement by watching The EmeraldPlanet TV® programs, participating in planning for and joining in various The Emerald Mini-Treks®, and linking your “best practices” to those in need on The Emerald Mall®. MANY BEST WISHES as together we create The EmeraldPlanet®…Dr. Sam Hancock

Program Overview:

Sameer Sachdeva is a graduate Engineer and Field Agricultural Research Scientist for Soil Health in India. He has been working in the agricultural sector for some two decades.  He is a graduate Engineer by profession. He has a Masters Degree in Marketing from Symbiosis Centre for Management, from Pune, Maharashtra State. Sameer has worked in various industries and geographies within India, including automotive tire manufacturing, high technology Dotcom concerns, and chemicals production, before starting a career of selling high quality Indian agricultural products to international clients mainly in Europe.

He started his journey in this sector joining “Field Fresh Foods India.” This was a Joint Venture between Bharti and Del Monte Asia Pacific. After leaving this company he became an independent scientific researcher studying and providing professional advice side-by-side with farmers. Such practical research and publishing helped various farmer based organizations create more professionalized agriculture businesses both in India and Internationally. He is currently associated with Baramati Agro Limited in Pune, Maharashtra State. The company has interest in various divisions which are all related to the “Farmer Community.”

The life changing moment for Sameer was when a farmer told him, “Don’t come to us just to take orders. We will always be here! What you need to focus on is creating an excellent supply chain of good quality produce for our customers.” This was the time he started focusing on building a stable, steady, and sustainable supply chain for both fresh and processed food businesses. During the last decade plus he has invested a great amount of time listening, walking, observing, experimenting, and living his life interacting with farmers across the entire length and breadth of India. Over this period he has seen and experienced great challenges faced by farmers trying to grow various crops. He has found the main issues being plant health directly linked to the increased usage of chemical fertilizers, insecticides, and pesticides. The more such chemicals were being used on crops the more costs were increasing to farmers while decreasing plant yields, quality, and customer appeal. Such produce was being criticized by the ever more sophisticated and price conscious Indian and export market consumers.

With such side-by-side work, research, observations, and experimentations he realized the main impediments for top quality yields, flavor, eye appeal, shelf life, and living wage earnings by the farmers were emerging from the soil. By professional association he was introduced to a scientist from the Washington, D.C. area of the United States. Dr. Daman S. Walia had over forty years of research, published reports, empirical data, numerous patents, and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S Environmental Protection Agency. Dr. Walia has taught and Mentored Sameer in the practical applications of specialized humic plant root stimulation concerning soil structure and how such soils can be amended through the infusion of all-natural humic remediation.

“Soil Health” found Sameer! It has become his passion and professional pursuit. He is dedicating the rest of his life educating farmers, their farming communities, along with Indian consumers and international buyers. Such teaching and demonstration efforts are about the importance of soil health for the future of sustainable, resilient, and expanding food production. During these two decades Sameer has already worked with more than 30,000 Indian farmers and this number continues to grow year-by-year.
