Program Overview:

The United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) is a movement of Americans who believe their interests and values of all Americans can best be advanced by standing with the planet’s only truly universal organization: The United Nations. Whether it is standing up for human rights, eliminating extreme poverty, putting an end to human trafficking, combating climate change, or protecting refugees, among so many other worthy and necessary actions and progress, the UN is working to create a brighter future by confronting the planet’s most complex challenges. This can not be done alone! While the UN is standing up for the world, members of the UNA-USA are standing up for the UN.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a to-do list with a 2030 deadline. Through world-wide consensus a list of seventeen [17] universal goals were agreed upon to ensure a healthy, prosperous, productive future for generations to come. These were adopted by the UN member countries to include the 17 SDGs and 231 targets designed to advance human dignity while protecting the planet. Achieving the goals by 2030 will require action by companies, nonprofit organizations, individual citizens, and all levels of governments.
